Dr. rer. nat. Felix Reitze

After completing his studies at the Technical University of Karlsruhe (today KIT) with a Diploma degree and a Doctorate in Biology as well as research work in the Department of Ecology and then at AG.L.N. Landschaftsplanung und Naturmanagement, Dr. Reitze changed to the topics of energy and material efficiency, biomass utilisation and energy demand projections when he started work at Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) in 2006. The emphasis of his work at Fraunhofer ISI was on energy-intensive branches of industry as well as the European paper and wood market.

In 2007, Dr. Reitze started work at IREES GmbH, where, as a senior scientist, he now deals with the topics of material efficiency, renewable sources of energy (biomass potential and utilisation, solar thermal systems), greenhouse gas emissions (e.g. from refrigeration systems) as well as the energy-intensive branches of industry, including existing obstacles and the consequently appropriate policy measures or recommendations for action for essential market players.

In the past years, Dr. Reitze completed further training as a Quality Manager (ISO 9000ff:2000), a distance learning course in Energy Management completed with a Master’s degree, and training as a LEEN management system moderator.
