Dipl. Wirtsch.-Ing. (FH) Andreas Gerspacher, M.Sc.

Andreas Gerspacher has been with IREES since September 2012 as an academic employee. He is in charge of the Mari:e – Mach‘s richtig: energieeffizient! (Do it properly: with energy efficiency!) project, and coordinates and moderates two regional Mari:e networks for SMEs on behalf of the city of Karlsruhe and as an employee of the ‘Stiftung Ressourceneffizienz und Klimaschutz’ foundation in Karlsruhe.

He completed his part-time studies in Energy Management with a Master of Science degree at the University of Koblenz-Landau in June 2015. From September 2009 to August 2012 assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (Fraunhofer ISI) in the competence center Energy Policy and Energy Systems, business unit Energy Efficiency. From March 2011 to August 2012 freelance work at IREES within the scope of the ‘Energy Consumption in the trades, commerce and services sector in Germany for the years 2007 to 2010’ project. 2008 successful completion of the Engineering Management course of study at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences with study periods in the USA and Spain.

Fields of research

  • Accelerated increase in energy efficiency and CO2 reduction in SMEs through the Mari:e energy efficiency model
  • Adaptation of the LEEN network management system to municipal networks
